He had reported for duty at 0700 and was assigned to the waiting room on Pier 88 on the Berth 2 exit doors. Security officer Gregory Molini and Intercruises staff Maryann Douglas responded and initiated CPR; also responding were two members of ILA Local 824, Massimo D Ambra and Henry Bogucki. Mr. D Ambra began automated external defibrillation (AED) and as directed by the AED unit administered one shock. Approximately two minutes later EMS and FDNY arrived on the scene and assumed patient care. EMS continued CPR and transported the patient to St. Vincent s Hospital. Security Officer Gregory Molini and Ports America marine superintendent Amin Abouheif followed the ambulance to the hospital and remained on the scene awaiting family members. The efforts of all concerned enabled the stricken security guard to regain a pulse. He was admitted into the cardiac care unit.
